Android System Apps Not Available After Enrollment

After enrolling Android devices with Enable System Apps set to No during provisioning, native system apps (such as Samsung Gallery, Samsung Messages, or other manufacturer apps) are unavailable on the devices. The enrollment setting cannot be changed retroactively, and the affected apps cannot be re-enabled through a group policy after enrollment.

Even though system app access is determined at enrollment time, you can restore access to specific native apps without re-enrolling devices. This is done by manually creating a native app entry in CapaOne using the app’s Application ID.

Follow the Create Native Apps for Android guide and use the correct Application ID for the system app you want to restore.

Example — Samsung Gallery:

  • Application ID: com.sec.android.gallery3d

To find Application IDs for other Samsung native apps, search Google for the app name followed by “application ID” or “package name” (e.g., Samsung Gallery application ID).

Once the app is created and assigned to the relevant group, it will be installed on the devices without requiring re-enrollment.
