Set Local Account State

Enables or disables a local account on the computer.\n\nThe built-in Administrator and Guest accounts are found by their well-known account identifier, so the brick also works on non-English Windows and on computers where the accounts have been renamed.\n\nIf the account is already in the wanted state, nothing is changed. The brick refuses to disable an account when that would leave the computer without any administrator.

Required — Default: Built-in Administrator Account

Select which local account to enable or disable.\n\nAdministrator and Guest are the built-in Windows accounts. They are found by their internal account identifier, so they are also found when they have been renamed or when Windows is not in English.\n\nThis is why the built-in accounts have their own entries rather than being typed below: the internal identifier of the built-in Administrator ends in -500 on every computer, but the rest of it is unique to that computer, so no single value can be typed once and work on every machine.\n\nSelect Custom to work on any other local account and type its name in the Account Name field. Allowed values: Built-in Administrator Account, Built-in Guest Account, Other Local Account.

Optional

The name of the local account to enable or disable. This is only used when Account is set to Other Local Account, and it is ignored for the built-in Administrator and Guest accounts.\n\nExample: LocalHelpdesk\n\nYou can also give the account identifier instead of the name, which keeps working if somebody renames the account.\n\nExample: S-1-5-21-2805946725-2641302353-1578231762-1008\n\nThe built-in Administrator always ends in -500 and the built-in Guest in -501, but the part before that is different on every computer, so use the Administrator or Guest entry in the Account list for those two instead of typing an identifier here.\n\nThe brick fails if the account does not exist on the computer.

Required — Default: Disabled

Select whether the account should be enabled or disabled.\n\nDisabled is the recommended state for the built-in Administrator and Guest accounts, because it is the state Microsoft recommends for a secured computer.\n\nAn account that is already in the selected state is left untouched. Allowed values: Enabled, Disabled.
