Create Native Apps for Android

Important

This is useful for Android devices running in Kiosk Mode with a custom launcher where Device Settings are enabled through configurations. It allows access to native device apps such as Phone, Messages, or Settings. Any native app available on the device can be added, provided you use the correct Application ID.

Create Native Android Apps from Google Play (In this example we are using a Samsung device)

1. Create a new Google Play app and search for Messages.
2. From the results, select Google Messages.
3. Replace the Application ID with the native Samsung Messages app ID: com.samsung.android.messaging
4. Configure the usual app settings as required.
5. Rename the app at the top to Messages.

2. From the results, select Phone by Google.
3. Replace the Application ID with the native Samsung Phone app ID: com.samsung.android.dialer
4. Configure the usual app settings as required.
5. Rename the app at the top to Phone.

1. Create a new Google Play app and search for Settings.
2. From the results, select Quick Settings for Android.
3. Replace the Application ID with the native Samsung Settings app ID: com.android.settings
4. Configure the usual app settings as required.
5. Rename the app at the top to Settings.

Once completed, the native Phone, Messages, and Settings apps are ready to be installed and used on the device.
