Restart Computer

Performs a controlled restart of the client as a standalone step in a workflow. The restart can be delayed, announced to the user, and limited to clients where a restart is actually pending.\n \nImportant: When the restart is started, the workflow stops here. Any brick placed after this brick is not executed, so place this brick last in the workflow.\n \nThe only exception is when “Only If Pending Reboot” is enabled and no restart is pending. Then nothing happens and the workflow continues with the next brick.

Optional — Default: 60

The number of seconds to wait before the restart is started. Use it to give the user time to save their work. Example: 60\n \nThe message below is shown for the same number of seconds, so the user gets exactly the time the message announces.\n \nUse 0 to start the restart immediately. No message is shown then, because the user gets no time to read it. The value must be between 0 and 86400 seconds (24 hours).

Optional — Default: Your computer will restart in a moment to finish a software installation. Please save your work.

The text shown to the user before the client restarts. It stays on screen for the number of seconds set in “Delay”, which is also how long the restart is postponed.\n \nThe message is only shown when a user is logged on and “Delay” is greater than 0. Leave it empty to restart without notifying the user.\n \nExample:\nYour computer will restart in a moment to finish a software installation. Please save your work.

Optional — Default: False

Enable to restart the client even when a user is logged on.\n \nDisable to postpone the restart when a user is logged on - the workflow then ends with “Cancel retry later” and runs again at a later time. The restart is also postponed when it cannot be determined whether a user is logged on, so a client that may be in use is never restarted by mistake. The reason is written to the log.

Optional — Default: False

Enable to restart the client only when Windows reports that a restart is pending, for example after a Windows update or a software installation that needs a restart to finish. When nothing is pending, the client is left running and the workflow continues with the next brick.\n \nDisable to always restart the client.
