Add Microsoft Edge Extension

Adds an extension for Microsoft Edge using the ExtensionSettings policy. This enables Edge Extensions to be installed and managed like applications, enabling extensions to be pushed to specific devices or users alongside existing GPO/Intune extension policies.

Parameters

Extension ID

Required

The ID of the extension to add. Find the extension ID from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store URL (e.g., fphgeikpdcdcheaochkhldmnfblfogla for NordVPN)

Update URL

Required — Default: https://edge.microsoft.com/extensionwebstorebase/v1/crx

The update URL of the extension. Use https://edge.microsoft.com/extensionwebstorebase/v1/crx for Microsoft Edge Add-ons store

Installation Mode

Required — Default: Normal Install

Controls if and how the extension is added to Microsoft Edge. Allowed: users can install the extension (default if not set). Blocked: users can’t install the extension. Force Install: installs automatically without user interaction; users can’t disable or remove it. Normal Install: installs automatically without user interaction; users can disable it. Removed: users can’t install the extension, and previously installed instances are removed. Allowed values: Allowed, Blocked, Force Install, Normal Install, Removed.

Minimum Version Required

Optional

The minimum version of the extension required for installation (optional). Example: 1.0.0
