# I Want to Know if Performance Counters Are Acceptable

Performance counters are measurements of computers' states or activities. They're useful when you want to find out how computers are affected by what users do with them.

If you're interested in performance counters, you can add the [Computer Chart Widget](/performanceguard/dashboards-and-widgets/widgets/computer-chart-widget/) to a dashboard.

The widget can show any Windows performance counter that your PerformanceGuard administrator has defined.

Depending on what your administrator has defined, you can view:

- A group of counters
