# Patch Management child point

> What a child point is, and why you might create several of them below the root point.

A child point is created below the root point and displayed hierarchy in the GUI/Wsus console. It is possible to create multiple child points below a root point. E.g. "Standard Computers", "Standard Servers", "SQL Servers" etc. For a child point, it is possible to define approval strategy   
    
 In the WSUS database, the child point is named \<group name\>\_GUID.

Right-clicking on a patch management child group gives you the following options:
