# Application groups

# Introduction

An application group collects software based on a query or by linking Software. 

**Right-clicking on the Application group folder will bring the following possibilities:**

| [Work with application group license](/capainstaller/the-capainstaller-console/asset-management/how-to-use-asset-management/work-with-application-group-license/) | Register number of licenses with supplier, business unit, or department |
| [Setup metering history](/capainstaller/the-capainstaller-console/asset-management/how-to-use-asset-management/setup-metering-history/)                               | This will update the metering history of the selected group.            |
| [Create a query](/capainstaller/the-capainstaller-console/asset-management/how-to-use-asset-management/create-a-query/)                                               | Here you can create a Query to collect the software into the group.     |
