# OSD - Installation of Windows ADK and WINPE

> Install the Windows ADK and the Windows PE add-on used to build the OS Deployment boot image.

|          1 | Install Windows ADK and WINPE from the link below on the client were the boot.wim is build from. <https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/get-started/adk-install>                                               |
|          2 | Now update your boot.wim with your new Windows ADK and WINPE. <br/> **WARNING: If you allegedly have installed windows ADK and WINPE, you need to uninstall them first, then restart the client, and install them again.** |
